What on earth is a DIY Rock Experiment, you ask? Why it’s the bread and butter of DIYRockAndRoll.com! In each DIY Rock Experiment, I pick a rock sub-genre like hard rock or a historical influence like 1940s R&B. Then, I explore the history of that music and try to create my own version at home without a band. Along the way I profile the musical equipment used, such as guitars, amps, pedals and microphones. I also discuss the creative and logistical process of writing, recording, and creating original album art. And of course I post the end results! You can find all of the DIY Rock Experiments below.
These posts are fairly substantial. But don’t worry, if you want to hear the music without reading all of that content, just click the social media buttons above or navigate to the songs portion of DIYRockAndRoll.com. Similarly, this website has standalone posts reviewing musical equipment and exploring music history if you’re looking for articles focused on those particular topics.
